The service was lacking. We ordered a bottle of wine and when we finished the first glass and wanted to refill, our server told us that they only have that wine by glass, even though we specifically asked for a bottle. Furthermore, we ordered a special of the day - pasta, only when we were paying the bill, we noticed that they charged us 50 euro!!! Overall, the service was very average, food was okay, but the price and food ration was off. Definitely not worth your time
I had a great evening at La Bul in Bari, Italy, opting for the chef's surprise tasting menu. The food, while very good, lacked that wow factor—creative and fresh, yet missing the mark on creating lasting memories. The wine selection, featuring many local options, was a strong point, but the service, while pleasant, didn't quite reach the level of excellence found in comparable fine dining establishments.
Really good experience and reasonable price. Main dish was the best of all. Interesting wine pairing.
We recently dined at La Bul but unfortunately, the overall dining experience left much to be desired.
The service was slow and not as attentive as one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. We were rushed through the specials menu even tho we asked the waiter to repeat and still didn’t understand what they offer.
Moreover, the presentation of the dishes was lackluster and failed to live up to the expectations set by the restaurant's status. While the dishes sounded great on paper, they lacked the refinement and creativity that one would expect from a high-end restaurant.
Additionally, the flavors of the food were underwhelming and did not leave a lasting impression. Overall, the food was mediocre and fell short of what one would expect.
Despite these shortcomings, I must commend the restaurant for their wine selection, which was the highlight of the evening.
A great dining experience. We were there as part of a group and had a menu prepared for us. The food preparation and service, along with wines chosen to complement the dishes, was wonderful.
Perhaps expectations were too high but however attentive the service and presentation, the taste didn't impress. Seafood was bland, perhaps too 'French'. Astice main dish felt more like an antipasto. Skipped desert.
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! At La Bul you'll have the most amazing dining experience, with great wine pairings (finally a restaurant where they truly know how to pair food and wine...), perfect, knowledgeable service, In a beautiful location. Considering the quality of the food, it's not even very expensive.
Great experience; nice staff, friendly and dedicated chef who comes to check every now and then to see if people enjoy his food, and we most certainly did. 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing, carefully sought out by chef and sommelier, accompanied by great service. Every dish was well balanced, some more exciting than others. Previous reviews suggest ‘small portions’, for all those people it might be a good time to start a diet…
